MICHAEL SCHUMACHER INSPIRES AMBER LOUNGE’S SUPPORT FOR THE BRAIN & SPINE FOUNDATION
Amber Lounge is honoured to announce the Official Charity for the 2014 Amber Lounge Fashion Monaco, theBrain & Spine Foundation.
Founded in 1992, the Brain & Spine Foundation assists people afflicted with severe brain and spine conditions. The charity is extremely pertinent to the motorsport industry today, as the recent, devastating circumstance involving F1 legend Michael Schumacher, brought the entire racing world to its knees. In December 2013, Schumacher suffered a serious head injury while skiing, and remains in a coma where he is currently in a critical but stable condition.
The charity is also close to Amber Lounge’s heart as Schumacher is a long-time friend of Amber Lounge founder, Sonia Irvine, the latter of whom was instrumental in the selection of the Brain & Spine Foundation as this year’s official charity:
“When I first heard news of Michael, it absolutely shattered me. My brother, Eddie, had raced alongside Michael at Ferrari, and that’s when we became friends. I knew that the very least I could do was to help people who were in a similar condition to Michael but who do not have the resources to overcome their condition. Michael and his family will always have a close place in my heart and this year’s event will aim to raise as much as we can to support the Brain and Spine Foundation.”

Donations from this year’s charity auction will benefit those suffering from severe neurological disorders. Extensive and exquisite pieces of art, jewellery and once-in-a-lifetime experience packages, are some of the many Amber Lounge exclusive items that will be put up for auction.
After 10 years at the front of the grid, Amber Lounge is fine-tuning The Original F1 Experience with the launch of a brand new concept in 2014 – U*NITE, bringing together the Annual Charity Auction, Fashion Show, Gourmet Dining and the Amber Lounge Club into one glamorous night, Friday 23rd May 2014.
With one all-inclusive ticket, guests can dine on an exclusively designed menu, sit front row at the fashion show, set to be creatively spearheaded by luxe resort-wear design team Odabash & Macdonald, and dance until dawn alongside a buzzing crowd of celebrities and F1 drivers – whilst being given the opportunity to donate to the Brain & Spine Foundation.
Amber Lounge is overwhelmingly honoured to be lending its hand and its network to the Brain & Spine Foundation – a charity of great sentimental value to the industry we have served for over a decade.
